New! Demographic Data Updates
MapBusinessOnline now includes these supplemental data sets used for market profile analysis and business site selection:
- US Census estimates for 2015 and 2016
- Consumer expenditure data estimates for 2015 and 2016
This data is available in the MBO Data Window, color coding, MBO market analysis as well as map display labels. These additional data sets are available at no additional fee and as a response to customer requests. Yet another MapPoint feature included in MBO.

MBO Tips & Tricks
Premium Layers - MBO users who purchased an annual or team subscription have access to premium layers - Cites, City Limits, MSA's, Census Tracts, and School Districts. Click the Add Layers button on the Master Toolbar.
Imported Data Updates - by including a column of unique identifiers in your imported data you could make data updates easier and faster. Common unique ID's are customer numbers, or record ID's. But you can just assign your own. As you import, match your unique ID column to the unique ID field. Later when it is time to update data, go to Map & Data and Hover over your data layer, click the Edit Gear and under General, choose Update data set from file (your machine). There is also Refresh Data option which will pull the map edits done by your Team members.

MBO Feature of the Month - ZIP Code Fillers
For those of you building nationwide sales territories by ZIP code we're sure you've noticed the white areas that represent sections of the nation where no ZIP codes exist. This is especially prominent out west with large undeveloped areas and national parks. MBO provides an option to use ZIP codes with fillers. The fillers allow territory managers to color shade all none-ZIP code areas the same shade as the surrounding ZIPs. This fix is not retroactive but would apply to any territories created moving forward. Open Map & Data, click the Edit Gear on the toolbar. Choose the ZIP Code Tab. In the drop down selection at the bottom choose USPS ZIP codes with fillers.
