MapBusinessOnline.com 4.3 – Team Map Editing, Expanded Census Data & Enhanced Security

NEWBURYPORT, MA (October 21, 2014) — Map Publisher SpatialTEQ Inc. today announced the release of MapBusinessOnline.com 4.3 – affordable business mapping software for sales, marketing and planning professionals in the U.S.A., Canada and the U.K.. MapBusinessOnline.com 4.3 (Map Business Online 4.3) provides the ability for multiple users to edit a shared map, enhanced privacy controls for shared mapping projects, an expanded array of U.S. Census Bureau demographic data layers, as well as an assortment of additional features requested by existing customers and targeted at ex-MapPoint users seeking a MapPoint replacement.

Team Map Editing of Shared Maps
Map Business Online 4.3 enables multi-user editing of shared maps by subscribers following a serialized work flow. Business data previously imported into the Map Business Online Cloud can also be edited, and reloaded. Shared map access is controlled through each map creator’s account controls. Map Business Online subscribers can assign team users and define their role as viewer, data editor, map editor or combinations of these settings.

Advanced Security for Shared Maps
Map Business Online 4.3 provides enhanced security to protect the privacy of shared maps and imported business data. Saved map views can be shared privately, safeguarding proprietary information. Map creators can share maps and data layers with designated individuals or a select group of team members. Shared map access is now assignable – subscribers determine who can view or access map controls. Publically shared interactive web-maps are now password protected and with controls over the use of shared data.

Expanded Demographic Mapping and Administrative District Data
Map Business Online 4.3 Demographic Data options have been updated and greatly expanded to include the latest Census results in the following categories: age, commute times, education, employment, ethnicity, gender, house-holds, housing units, income, occupation, population, race, religion, rent data, and vehicle data. Demographic data remains exportable and sharable based on subscriber license limits. View demographics maps by zip code, Census tract, county, state, city or MSA.

Public administrative district data available to Map Business Online users now includes point zip codes (non-area zip codes), cities and towns, settlements, and school districts.

Map Templates
A new map template folder allows Map Business Online map editors to save template maps. Map templates are saved map views used for creating new map views based on established map configurations.

Additional Features
Additional features include: expanded symbology ranges and color coding options, expanded sales territory mapping software options, annual MapShare allowances increased to 2400 per year, drive time polygons are now based on distance traveled in addition to time, and optimized routing allowances are increased for subscribers and MapShare viewers. To accommodate an influx of former Microsoft MapPoint users, Map Business Online development will focus on areas where MapPoint and Map Business Online differ to create the most advanced yet affordable MapPoint alternative.
